One obvious use for avocado powder is to make guacamole, a dip that's delicious on corn chips and also a nice topping for tacos. But what if you're tired of guacamole and ready to venture out? Then, you can make one of these three other dips with your avocado powder.

Italian Herb Dip

If you love the flavors of the Italian herbs basil and oregano, here's a fun, new way to experience them. The creaminess of the avocado really allows their flavors to shine through. This dip is delicious on crostini, crackers, or even on vegetables. To make about 2 cups of this dip, you'll need:

  • 1/2 cup avocado powder
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons minced oregano, minced
  • 2 tablespoons minced basil, minced
  • a pinch of fresh rosemary, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Combine the avocado and water, and let this mixture sit for 10 minutes. Then, stir in the remaining ingredients, and stir well. Let the mixture sit in the fridge for an hour before eating in order to give the flavors time to meld.

Spicy Tomato and Avocado Dip

This dip has a lot of similar characteristics to guacamole, but it's much heavier on the tomatoes. In a way, it's like a cross between salsa and guacamole, which makes it a great choice for corn chips and to add to other Mexican dishes. To make about 2 cups of this dip, you'll need:

  • 1 cup tomato, chopped finely with seeds removed
  • 1/2 cup avocado powder
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon red onion, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried cilantro
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Combine the avocado powder, sour cream, and water. Let this mixture sit and soften. Then, add the remaining ingredients, and stir gently. Let the dip sit in the fridge for at least one hour, then serve.

California Chicken Dip

This dip is a really filling one. When served with bread or corn chips for dipping, it can make for a whole meal. For about 2 1/2 cups of dip, you'll need:

  • 1 cup cooked, finely shredded chicken
  • 1/4 cup avocado powder
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce of your choice
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt

Combine all of the ingredients above. Place in a shallow casserole dish, and heat at 325 degrees F for 15 minutes. Let cool slightly, and enjoy.
