If you run a restaurant, bar, catering company, or some other business that goes through large quantities of iced tea, then it makes sense to buy wholesale iced tea. This way you can get bulk quantities — and prices are generally lower. However, not all wholesale iced tea is the same, and if you're going to be buying big quantities of it, you want to make sure the product you're buying suits your needs. As such, it is wise to ask the following questions before you buy wholesale iced tea from a certain vendor.

Is It Sweetened or Unsweetened?

Sweetened iced tea and unsweetened iced tea are quite different from each other. If you've been serving both already, then it makes sense to look for a wholesale vendor who can sell you both. However, if you are only after one or the other, then you really want to check and ensure the iced tea you're buying is the right type. If you can only find unsweetened, then of course, you have the option of adding sugar to the tea to sweeten it yourself. However, this is an extra step you'll want to plan for. You may be better off just looking for a different wholesale supplier who sells sweetened tea — if that's what you need.

How Long Does the Iced Tea Last?

Iced tea will stay fresh for a week or so after it is made, and sometimes longer, depending on the ingredients. The company selling the iced tea may not make it the day they send it out, which means it could have a slightly shortened shelf-life by the time it reaches you. To ensure you're not buying more than you can use before it spoils, ask the supplier how quickly you need to use the iced tea after you receive you shipment. Order based on this timeline.

How Is the Tea Dispensed?

You want to make sure you can get the iced tea out of the containers it comes in and into any containers you use to serve and dispense it. Some wholesale companies sell their tea in large, 5-gallon, plastic jugs. These are pretty convenient since you can pour from them. If the iced tea comes in plastic bags set inside boxes — another common approach — transferring the tea may be a bit harder.

If you ask the questions above, you'll have a better idea what you're getting when you order wholesale iced tea. For more information, contact a wholesale iced tea supplier that services your area.
